Christmas Highlights

We had such a great Christmas. We got to spent time with both of our families. It makes it really easy when they live right around the corner from each other.

We were really spoiled this year too. My mom and dad gave Dan a ladder and a shop vacuum.
We really needed both.
Dan's mom gave me a wheat grinder. I am very excited to make my own flour.

We got to spent some time playing games with our families too. We bought Dan's dad the Cabela's big game hunter for the Wii. He loved it and spent all weekend playing it. I tried it and ended up getting eaten by a mountain lion. I didn't know what to do so I just started hitting the air with the rifle thinking that would get the video game lion off of me. Nope it didn't work.
We also played clue on Christmas eve. I love that game. Dan even bought me the Harry Potter clue game. It has all sorts of twists to the game.

Mom helped me put together my Christmas Lego village- a gift from Santa ;)

And we rested. Here is my dad trying to get Dan to rub his feet. Dan didn't want to.

Snowflake Wedding cake

Here is the latest cake I made. I thought it turned out pretty well. The Bride had me draw snowflakes on it and we used the LED ribbon that you plug in.

Decorating for Christmas

I just love Christmas! Yep my tree looks exactly the same as my families tree alwasy did.
It's tradition! It's a good thing that Dan and I like the same things.
Dan thought it would be fun to decorate me

I set the timer and cut off the top of Dan's head. But we still had fun last night getting our tree ready for Christmas.

Our perfect tree

I made these socks for us

I just love my living room. It just looks so cozy and warm. I have even been laying on the couch at night looking at the tree lights. It's so relaxing.
We also got a new rug.

Snow

It's so exciting when it snows! I love it. I thought about building a snowman but the snow isn't exactly rolling together so I pushed it together and made a sculture instead. Starts out as a big blob of snow
Then I carved it out with a butter knife and a spoon

And Painted it with some watered down tole paints
Merry Christmas everyone!

I did it.

Well I did it. I finally finished the puzzle ~ It's a 750 Gerberadaisy baby puzzell with 5 extra pieces and doesn't have a border. I had to start in the middle and work my way out. I did figure out that there were 2 types of pieces and divided those into boxes and tried every piece in every open space. It was exciting everytime I got a piece. I'd yell "I got one."
Finally last night we thought the puzzle agony was over ~until we realized we couldn't find the last piece. We looked everywhere and finally just went to bed defeated. Early this morning I came down stairs and realized the piece was hidden on top of the puzzle ~ blending in with all the rest of the daisies. It took me almost 2 months to complete.
