My Birthday

This year for my birthday I thought it would be fun to take Tanner mini golfing. Dan had to work so we went with my mom and Logan. It was so much fun.
Tanner loved picking the balls up where ever they landed and dropping them in the hole. He also liked carrying around the golf clubs.
 Logan and my Mom
I didn't actually hit very many balls. I spent most of the time chasing Tanner and watching him have fun.
Tanner just laughed every time he hit the ball. Logan took this picture right after he hit one.
My family also went out to Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner and opened gifts. Missy found me this Big Bird Cookie Jar. I just cried when I got it. My Grandma Ruby had one just like it when I was little and Missy even filled it full of Grandma Ruby cookies (sandwich cookies). The best gift ever.
Last year for my birthday I was in Colorado with Dan's family and I bought a lemon cake that tasted so good. So this year I wanted one just like it. I ended up using a lemon cake mix and making up some Lemon pudding (the kind for Lemon Meringue pie) and put that in the middle and on top. The frosting I used is a can of sweetened condensed milk  with a container of cool whip and 3/4 cup of Lemonade concentrate. It tasted so good.
It also rained a little on my birthday, so of course Tanner and I had to splash in the puddles.

It really was a great day being with family and eating lots of food and having fun.

Highland Splash Pad

Today Tanner and I went with Hillary and her boys to Highland Splash Pad. It's a free area where the kids can play in some ankle deep water. It's a lot of fun. It took Tanner a bit to get used to it but he really loves the water.
Tanner playing with one of the fountains that comes out of the rocks.
 Fisher, Hunter and Hillary.
 Oops!  Water in the face.

Justin carried the basket of balls back to the top of the splash pad and dropped them back into the water for the kids to chase again.

"I got a ball- so now what?"

It really is a great place to take your kids.

Going to the movies

Monday, Tanner and I went to the SCERA and watched Happy Feet 2. During the summer they show kids movies during the day that have been out a while. He made it through the first half of the movie. He thought those penguins were pretty awesome and when they started singing he bounced a little and moved his arm. He loves music.
Just me and my Tanner. He sure loved the popcorn and seeing his Aunty Meena at work.

Grandpa Lloyd's Heart

On June 22 my Grandpa Lloyd had a four way bypass surgery and Aortic Valve replacement. We went over and visited him on Sunday and he seems like he is doing pretty well. He doesn't like the physical therapists that come in and make him get out of bed but he still does it. The nurse said that he is doing great with his breathing exercises too. Grandpa sure is a trooper. They gave him this heart pillow to hug when he has to get up and when he coughs. I think he's glad to have it and even asked me to sign it. ;)

My Mom and Grandpa

We sure love you!

Random Tannerness

"Mom, do you think I would look good with a mustache and Goatee like Dad?"
(Tanner got into my ink pads. I just laughed when I saw it on his face.)

Tanner just loves hats and Dan's little Hymn Book. It's so cute when he says 'hat' and sometimes he makes some random noises like he's singing .

The front of the crib broke and Tanner was so excited to sleep in his big boy bed for the first time. He did great the first 2 nights- he slept all night and did't get out of bed once.  The 3rd and 4th night he fell out. After that we've been putting the mattress on the floor.  He hasn't been falling asleep as well or staying in his bed. Yep, he's been getting out a lot.
A couple of days ago Tanner fell asleep while reading his book about Jesus. He loves this book.
Dan teaching Tanner how to swim. Tanner loves the water.
Tanner and I going to church. I thought we both looked great and had to get a picture.

Tanners new toys

It's been so nice having outside toys for Tanner to play with. When I go out in the yard to work in the garden it's nice for Tanner to have something to do.
Dan's sister Krisde gave us this slide. She just moved to Australia and thought that Tanner could use it. He loves it. He's figured out that he can climb up the slide much better than climbing up the side of it.

I bought this little pool last year for him. It looks like I might need to get a bigger one. He sure loves playing in the water.
My Dad and Dan build Tanner a sand box for under the deck. It's the best thing ever. He loves digging in the sand and getting dirty. It's in the shade and he can play there for hours.
This fire truck was Dan's sister Amber's. She left if at their Grandma Bonnie's house when she moved so Grandma Bonnie gave it to Tanner. He loves it. He slipped on the seat and got stuck. So of course before I helped him I had to get a picture- mean mom. ;) He loves driving his new fire truck.

Grandma Bonnie also gave him this Horse. He was excited to sit on it and bounce.

Yep~ Lots of fun toys for Tanner.
He also got a wagon, and a little picnic table and a swing set. I am working on painting the swing set. All of these are from his Dan's sisters.

Logan - My brother

I was looking through my moms keepsake box and found a couple notes of things that Logan said when he was younger. I thought they were funny and decided to share them.

 Logan 2002 - age 4
Sept. 1 2002~ Logan's Ant Joke
" So an Ant talks..... j/k it doesn't "

October 22, 2002 ~ Dad told me a story about Logan probably from a couple of days ago. Dad said to Logan, "You smell like a little boy." Logan said, "I do not." Dad said, "Yes you do." Logan said "I do not, besides I've been with me all day, and I'm used to it."

 Logan 2003 ~ age 5

July 20, 2003 ~ Logan was coloring with his new color change pen and he started looking for the lid. He looked everywhere and finally realized the lid was in his had. He said, "here it is, it's been in my hand the whole time."

December 2003 ~ Logan wanted to know what the password to get into the computer. I told him that it is Missy's favorite pirate word. So Logan said,"Ahoy Mates." I told him that wasn't the correct. He finally said, "Just tell me, it's not like I can spell it."

 Logan 2004 ~ age 6

May 31, 2004 ~ Logan was talking to my dad today while they were outside. Logan said that Scout, our dog is really smart. My dad said, "How do you know."  Logan said "Because they have very highly developed brains."

July 18, 2004 ~ We were driving to Grandma's house and Markus and Emily were here visiting. We were talking about different places for me to live. Emy asked Logan where he thought I should go. Logan said, "Oh, I don't konw. Maybe out of state somewhere where she can be away from us.;" Emy laughed at that. Then she said, "What state should she live in? " Logan said, "Maybe Texas."

July 31, 2004 ~ Logan got scouts tail stuck in the door and she got hurt. I had a hard time with it because of her last injury. I decide to sit and rest on the couch, and Logan came down and patted me on the shoulder and said, "I know you're sad, it's going to be ok Scouty."  Then he laughed and said "Racheal".

October 29th 2004 ~ We were sitting up to the table eating dinner and Racheal was looking at the 2004 voter election guide trying to decide who to vote for. Logan said that he wanted to vote for Jim Matheson. I asked him why. And later he said, "You would vote for me wouldn't you?" Racheal said, "What are you running for?" Logan said,"President." Racheal said, "Oh, what are your views and rule." Then Logan went on to say things like "Don't run with scissors." He's funny.

December 14, 2004 ~ Logan was working on a present for mom and he had a hard time doing it. He got frustrated and said, "tumsign". He thought about for a minute and realized that wasn't the right word. He kept trying to say it. I finally asked him what the meaning of the word was. He said that it meant he doesn't do it very often. Finally he said, "Oh, I've said it backwords- it's sometime."

Logan 2005 ~ age 7

August 25 2005 ~Logan was in his room trying to get ready for School. He started making all sorts of noises with his throat - trying to clear it out. Mom came in to get him to hurry. Logan said, ""But mom, I have a hair ball."
