Nursery

Tanner has been to nursery a couple of times since he's turned 18 months and today I finally took the camera. He won't stay in class unless his dad is with him, but we'll work on it.
He does love Music Time though.
He music teacher- Sister Starker- is really good about keeping the kids attention and transitioning
from song to song.
Tanner is the boy right here in front - with the curls. ;)

Hand foot and mouth Disease

Last Thursday Tanner woke up with a fever and had it all day. I am glad that it wasn't a Rosila fever of 104. This time his fever only went up to 100. He was clingy and cranky, and he didn't know what he wanted. And of course it was the day after I'd just picked 4 boxes of green beans from my grandma's garden. It wasn't easy taking care of Tanner and getting my 27 pints and 21 quarts of green beans done. I ended up processing 2 batches the next day.
He was feeling a bit better on Friday then he started breaking out in little red spots on his arms.
He got just a little bit around his mouth and on his nose that made him look like he has boogies.
This is the worst part on his legs. The doctor thought it was weird that he mostly got it on his lower half. Poor Tanner had spots on his bum as well.
And he got spots on this foot- not the other one. He isn't contagious anymore. The doctor said that it is only contagious when he has the fever, but that this disease is going around.

I am so glad he is feeling better now and sleeping through the night again.

Our Ice cream Vampire

My family came over for Family home evening earlier this month and we had ice cream bars for desert. Tanner has never had one. He loved it. I love the drips coming down his cheeks.
He only had a couple bites left and he dropped it.
 I love his shovel lip.
He was a lot happier after we told him he could have another one.

My Birthday

This year for my birthday I thought it would be fun to take Tanner mini golfing. Dan had to work so we went with my mom and Logan. It was so much fun.
Tanner loved picking the balls up where ever they landed and dropping them in the hole. He also liked carrying around the golf clubs.

I didn't actually hit very many balls. I spent most of the time chasing Tanner and watching him have fun.
Tanner just laughed every time he hit the ball. Logan took this picture right after he hit one.
My family also went out to Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner and opened gifts. Missy found me this Big Bird Cookie Jar. I just cried when I got it. My Grandma Ruby had one just like it when I was little and Missy even filled it full of Grandma Ruby cookies (sandwich cookies). The best gift ever.
Last year for my birthday I was in Colorado with Dan's family and I bought a lemon cake that tasted so good. So this year I wanted one just like it. I ended up using a lemon cake mix and making up some Lemon pudding (the kind for Lemon Meringue pie) and put that in the middle and on top. The frosting I used is a can of sweetened condensed milk  with a container of cool whip and 3/4 cup of Lemonade concentrate. It tasted so good.
It also rained a little on my birthday, so of course Tanner and I had to splash in the puddles.

It really was a great day being with family and eating lots of food and having fun.

Highland Splash Pad

Today Tanner and I went with Hillary and her boys to Highland Splash Pad. It's a free area where the kids can play in some ankle deep water. It's a lot of fun. It took Tanner a bit to get used to it but he really loves the water.

 Oops!  Water in the face.

Justin carried the basket of balls back to the top of the splash pad and dropped them back into the water for the kids to chase again.

It really is a great place to take your kids.

Going to the movies

Monday, Tanner and I went to the SCERA and watched Happy Feet 2. During the summer they show kids movies during the day that have been out a while. He made it through the first half of the movie. He thought those penguins were pretty awesome and when they started singing he bounced a little and moved his arm. He loves music.
Just me and my Tanner. He sure loved the popcorn and seeing his Aunty Meena at work.
