Waffles

The other day I asked Tanner what he wanted for breakfast and he said Waffles. I don't make them very often but I thought it would be a great opportunity to teach Tanner how to cook some breakfast.
He did a great job of getting everything mixed up.

 He loved them - Yum!

Curls

This is what Tanner's hair looks like when he wakes up.

Yep it's all over the place big and puffy.
This is what it looks like after it's done. I get it wet and it stays for a little while.

Tanner doesn't like it when I do his hair. It gets snarls in it and he says "Ouch" the whole time even when I don't pull it. But we get through it. I really like his curly hair and am not ready to cut it yet. One of these days it will have to happen but not today.

Utah State Fair

When I was younger my Dad would take us to the fair to see the animals. We thought it would be fun to take Tanner to the Utah State Fair and he loved it.
Dan and Tanner looking at the cows- Moo!

Tanner wasn't sure he liked being this close to the pigs
Baby Pigs
One of my favorite things to see at the Fair is the sculpture made out of butter. That's a lot of butter.
This year they had a group of Olympic Divers. They took turns jumping off the different heights and being kind of goofy.
I think Tanner thought this Eagle was going to get him.
They had an area for the kids to play in. Tanner loved the bubble maker. It made me want to get one for him to play in.

Dan and Tanner making big bubbles

Tanner loved Stacking the blocks and knocking them over.

 We all played the drums.

The State Fair at the end of the day.

We really had a great time being together as a Family.

Nursery

Tanner has been to nursery a couple of times since he's turned 18 months and today I finally took the camera. He won't stay in class unless his dad is with him, but we'll work on it.
He does love Music Time though.
He music teacher- Sister Starker- is really good about keeping the kids attention and transitioning
from song to song.
Tanner is the boy right here in front - with the curls. ;)

Snack Time!
Fish crackers, animal cookies and  water.

Hand foot and mouth Disease

Last Thursday Tanner woke up with a fever and had it all day. I am glad that it wasn't a Rosila fever of 104. This time his fever only went up to 100. He was clingy and cranky, and he didn't know what he wanted. And of course it was the day after I'd just picked 4 boxes of green beans from my grandma's garden. It wasn't easy taking care of Tanner and getting my 27 pints and 21 quarts of green beans done. I ended up processing 2 batches the next day.
He was feeling a bit better on Friday then he started breaking out in little red spots on his arms.
He got just a little bit around his mouth and on his nose that made him look like he has boogies.
This is the worst part on his legs. The doctor thought it was weird that he mostly got it on his lower half. Poor Tanner had spots on his bum as well.
And he got spots on this foot- not the other one. He isn't contagious anymore. The doctor said that it is only contagious when he has the fever, but that this disease is going around.

I am so glad he is feeling better now and sleeping through the night again.

Our Ice cream Vampire

My family came over for Family home evening earlier this month and we had ice cream bars for desert. Tanner has never had one. He loved it. I love the drips coming down his cheeks.
He only had a couple bites left and he dropped it.
 I love his shovel lip.
He was a lot happier after we told him he could have another one.

Doing the Laundry - the Dad way

You see son - Mom asked us to do Laundry- and this is how you do it.
