Do you play Croquet?

My dad decided that it would be a great idea to have family home evening once a month at each other's house. This last monday was mine and Dan's turn.

We had a lesson on Service. I thought it would be great to focus on how we can help others- not on how we want others to help us. I've noticed that when you focus on others- it could be your neighbors, or people at work or your family than it's easier to deal with your own problems. My mom and dad are great examples of service. My mom is always helping Ben with his kids and over at my grandma and grandpa's helping them weed, clean the house and most recently helping re-shingle the roof. I wasn't able to help as much as I like because of my back and the angle of the roof. It's been pretty hard having a back problem. I used to be able to do just about anything, but not anymore.

Anyway - we based the lesson off of the conference talk given by Elder Oaks. You should all read it.

After the lesson- we had homemade Vanilla ice cream compliments of my mom and Grandpa Lloyd and I was able to use my new Ice cream maker and made some chocolate. Yum!

Sounds so fun! When is everyone coming out to my house for FHE?
