Tanner's 2

I got Tanner's pictures taken at the beginning of the month. He wasn't feeling the best and he is also getting less cooperative when it comes to pictures but my Aunt always does such a great job. Thanks Angie.

It's been a cold January

It has been so cold outside this month that we've had to come up with other options of entertainment for  Tanner. I finally decided to let him watercolor. He loved it.

His finished product. One of the colors that he said he wanted was black. And I asked him if he could draw a circle. That is what's in the middle. His circle.

Yesterday Tanner asked me for the ramp. Usually he uses it for cars but when I came back into his room to check on him he decided to use it as a slide and went down head first.

Tanner set this up by himself. Dan was working from home a couple weeks ago and Tanner set the chairs next to each other and grabbed Dan's hand so they could go for a drive. He also had to have his Sunglassees. (That's how he says it.)

We also watch Mickey Mouse Club house and color and play with lots of play dough. Tanner has a great imagination. He loves to play.

Getting dressed

Tanner is at the age where he likes to do things by himself. He will point to himself and say "Me". He's pretty funny when it comes to what he wants to wear. I used to ask him what he wanted when he got up in the morning and it made it really hard to get him dressed when all he wanted was his Levis and BYU "football" shirt.  I have since learned to stop asking and just put something on him but he really does like wearing levi's.

This is the first time Tanner put his coat on by himself. He put it on and he was ready to go out the door.
The other day he came to me in the kitchen looking like this. First try getting on his shirt
His Grandma Starla gave him some underwear. He was pretty excited about it and kept taking them on and off and trying to decide which ones he wanted to wear. He isn't potty trained yet but he has gone in the toilet quite a bit. I haven't tried very hard.

It looks like he is thinking- How many pairs of underwear can I put on?

During the summer he loved wearing this hat and his upside down sunglasses and why not put some shoes on? He has is very own style.
And how about reading in bed with your boots on. Another great picture taken during the summer.

Tanner is very fun to have in our family!

Our New Years Eve

I am not a big celebrator of New Years. When I was younger I thought it was great to be able to stay up until 12:30 am. That's the only day my mom would let us. We'd watch movies, eat crackers and play games. When I was older my dad and I would go Ice fishing on the 1st of the new year. I loved doing that. It was cold and it was early but it was fun.  And now I just go to bed so that I am not tired the next day. For sleeping in as a mom just isn't something that can be done. Last night I went to bed at 11 pm.

For our New years this year Tanner and I decorated a little cake to eat after dinner. I had to help him with the frosting  but he loved to put on the sprinkles. The sprinkles are the fireworks.

 Lots and lots of Sprinkles
Tanner's cake. I think he did a great job.
Our family of 2012- I was dressed up earlier when we went to dinner but  yeah- I pretty much look like a slob in this but I like the pictures because we're about to fork the cake. Forking the cake tastes so much better than cutting a piece.

We've taught Tanner well- he's a cake forking pro. (He's watching Finding Nemo while he eats)
