Centipede Week

Centipede week!  This week we learned about another bug.  On Tuesday we had my cousin Hillary's kids come over and they were pretty excited to help make a giant Centipede for the wall.

I also surprised Tanner on Saturday with some centipede pancakes. They're pretty easy to make when you have a squeeze bottle. Justin colored the one with the spider on it so that there would be something for the bug to eat.

Other things we learned this week- Centipedes eat little bugs they uses there antenna to fill around under rocks and then attack the hidden bugs poison them and eat. Millipedes don't eat other bugs. They only eat plants. 

Some centipedes lay eggs and roll their bodies around them to protect the eggs until they hatch. Some  can have 20- 650 legs with the most and biggest having almost 700 legs. They also have an uneven number of legs. Most segments have 2 legs each but I guess there has to either have 1 leg on one or 3 on one. Not sure, but they don't have an even amount of legs. We did watch some You tube videos on Centipedes and Millipedes eating and attacking their meals. 

Tanner liked learning about them. There just isn't much you can do to make the week exciting.
