Summer Fun: Sleepover with Cousins

Tanner and Violet love playing with their cousins. And last night after we were at the Peck reunion we had Tristin and Ian sleep over. They have so much fun. We hadn't planned on having them stay that long but it worked out and it's a good thing that Tanner is about the same size as his cousins even though Tanner is 4, Ian is 5 and Tristin is 7.
Violet, Tanner, Ian and Tristin watching a  super hero movie
 Tristin playing with Tanner's bugs
Violet the popcorn hog. She loves it.
Going to bed. Best buds- Ian, Tanner and Tristin
Dan read them some stories and sang them some Johnny Cash songs. Tanner loves Johnny Cash.
And heading off to church. Again the boys were able to wear some of Tanner's clothes. He has a lot of hand me downs from various family members.
What a fun evening and day for them. They sure do love getting together and staying up all night goofing off.

Caterpillar and Butterfly Week

This last week we learned about Butterflies and Caterpillars.  We went to the Bean Museum like I.showed on an earlier post and saw a bunch of butterflies

 Learning about the butterfly cycle
Lots of colorful butterflies
We also made caterpillars out of fuzzy balls and tongue depressors.
 The kids love making things

Tanner made a dad, mom and a baby one.
And of course the colorful cupcake caterpillars that tasted so good.

And it was pretty awesome seeing the Hungriest Caterpillar in the Lehi Parade.
We didn't get to watch any caterpillar and butterfly shows but we did get to read some books.
It was another fun week.

Summer Fun: Lehi Round Up - Children's Mini Parade

When I was younger my mom always took us to the Lehi Round up Parades. They had the children's parade on Friday and the Grand Parade on Saturday. Dan doesn't really like to go so I try to take the kids. Tonight Dan and Tanner ended up going to scout camp so I just took Violet to the Friday Parade because it's shorter. It was really hot though and the sun was in our faces for a little while until I moved down the street a bit.

 A hot and tired Violet

I took a couple of pictures of the kids floats. These were the cutest one. The theme this year was about books or something. But such cute ideas.
The Hungriest Caterpillar - Ended up winning 1st place
Mother Goose- ended up winning 2nd place
This is my cousins Caitlyn's son Leo and her husband Aaron. He is Little Boy Blue
I thought these costumes were cute. They went with the Alice in Wonderland float. - Winning Sweepstakes. Although I didn't take the picture of the float.
We had fun and Violet liked the candy they threw at us. Yum!

Summer Fun: Bubbles

Bubbles!  I bought this new bubble blower for the kids. It was fun. It really made a lot of bubbles. I couldn't get the kids to look at me though. They were too interested in just making bubbles. And of course bubbles only last 20 minutes or so but we had fun.

And Violet spilled it and got it all over herself. Very sticky.

Summer Fun: Pajama Day

So this morning we decided to have another Pajama Day. It ended up just being a Pajama morning until after lunch sometime when I got Tanner ready for his Camping trip with his dad. But it is a lot smoother of a morning when you don't have to get the kids ready. And Tanner and Violet had a lot of fun playing in the tent in the living room.

Summer Fun: Making Cupcakes

On our Summer fun list is making cupcakes and since we are also learning about Caterpillars and Butterflies this week we make cupcake caterpillars. Plus I love cupcakes.
Tanner mixing up the different colors. He really loves making cooking and making things different colors. Especially when he asks for pancakes in the morning he has to have them colored.

These are the colors Tanner picked out.
Tanner and Violet helping and tasting the cake batter.

 So Much Color

Decorating our cupcakes. Ally our neighbor came over to make her a cupcake also. We had each kid get 6 different colored cupcakes and they frosted the first one with with face. We used gummy lifesavers, dum dum sickers, and sprinkles to decorate.
Violet licked the frosting off of her cupcake

Yum! She had just licked her cupcake.

You can't make cupcakes with out getting a little bit of frosting on your face.

Our finished cupcake caterpillar. So yummy too.

Summer Fun: Family Game Night

Tonight before we went to bed we had family game night. We didn't play Shuttes and Ladders for very long because Tanner wanted to make up his own directions but we had such a fun time.
The other game we played was Twister. It was Violets first time playing so of course she didn't quite know what to do but stomp on the mat and climb on everyone. They loved it.

Tanner took these pictures of me and Dan trying to play.

I love watching the kids play and laugh. It's so fun to have them in our family and see their different personalities.
We love Family time!
