Worms

So last week we decided to learn about worms. Wiggly, slimy worms. We found a worm episode on Wild Kratts that Tanner and Violet watched and we read some books that we got from the library. We found out that worms have lots of segments that help them move around and each segment has 8 little fiber things that can grip to help them move a long. They have a mouth and and really small brain and some other small parts and a long intestine. They eat the dirt as they dig and it goes through the digestive system and out the back. It's interesting. Worm holes allow air and water to filter through the ground.
For our art project we decided to paint with worms- well rubber bands. I didn't want to actually use worms because that's just mean. We cut up some rubber bands and dipped them in paint.
Tanner's picture turned out pretty well. He loves using finger paints.

I just let Violet use a brush. She loves painting but she keeps eating it and she was really upset that I took the paints away. She had it all over.

One night for Dinner we had worms and dirt clods- spaghetti and Meatballs. Tanner thought that was pretty great and Violet will eat about anything that we are eating. In the picture she is probably just trying to keep her cup from Tanner. It was a fun dinner.

And you can't learn about worms and not make dirty dessert. Tanner just liked to eat the gummy worms. We put crumbled oreo cookies in the bottom and then on the top. We used Chocolate and Butterscotch pudding and stuck the worms in like they were crawling out of the ground. Tanner loves making things and helping in the kitchen.

Aunt Missy was there so we were able to make her one too.
Tanner loves doing things with his Aunt.

We also tried to find some worms but we didn't get anything watered so it was kind of dry. Maybe next time.

What a great week of learning.
